Ingredients
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups water
Preparation
- Grease pans with Pam for baking. Stir together flour, cocoa, powder, soda and salt.
- Beat butter on high for 30 seconds. Add sugar, beating til light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Beat in chocolate and vanilla. Add dry mixture and water alternately to mixture, beating on low til just combined. Pour into prepared pan(s).
- Bake in 350F oven for 30-35 minutes depending on pan size. Keep close watch on it and remove when toothpick comes out with a few crumbs clinging to it. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
