Ingredients
1 onion, grated
2 T butter
1 t dried oregano
pinch salt
28-oz can crushed tomatoes
1 T extra virgin olive oil
1/4 t sugar
2 T minced basil
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
Saute onion over medium heat in the butter along with the oregano and a pinch of salt; 10 minutes, until onions brown.
Add tomatoes; turn heat to high to bring it to a simmer. Take off heat and stir in oil, sugar, basil, salt and pepper.
