Ingredients

1/2 C butter, softened

1/2 C sugar

1 large egg

1/2 C molasses

3 C all purpose flour

2 tsp allspice

2 tsp ginger

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

Preparation

Beat butter & sugar in large bowl at medium speed til light & fluffy; beat egg in well & beat in molasses. Beat flour, allspice, ginger & soda in at low speed til thoroughly blended & smooth. Refrigerate in plastic 1 1/2-2 hours. Heat oven to 350F. Work 1/4 dough - refrig. rest. Roll out on lightly floured surface. Cut as desired. Place on ungreased sheets 1" apart. Bake 12-20 mins til firm. Cool on wire racks.
