Lots of basil

For each packed cup of basil, use 3 medium cloves of garlic and 1 heaping tablespoon of pine nuts

Just enough olive oil to get the food processor moving (about 1 tablespoon per packed cup of basil). Go easy on the olive oil.

Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Put basil and garlic in food processor. Drizzle olive oil onto basil and start the food processor. Pulse as needed to get the basil chopped up. Pushing the food processor at a higher speed does not help. Pulsing can help. If it just doesn’t seem to be getting chopped, add more olive oil, a very tiny bit at a time. When all chopped up, it is ready to use or freeze as described above.

Add grated parmesan cheese when serving (plus those carefully toasted pine nuts, if you like)
