Ingredients
BARBECUED BEEF SANDWICHES
6 lbs. beef chuck
1 rib celery, chopped
3 large onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 c. ketchup
3 T. cider vinegar
2 T. chili powder
1 t. black pepper
3 T. your favorite BBQ sauce
1 t. Tabasco
2 t. salt
1 1/2 c. water (or stock, which I use)
Preparation
Cut beef into chunks.Place in roasting pan or Dutch oven.Combine ketchup, vinegar, chili powder, BBQ sauce, Tabasco,stock or water, salt and pepper and pour over meat. Add chopped vegetables. Heat to boiling on top of stove and then move to oven-cover and bake for 6 hours at 300º or until meat is tender enough to shred with a fork. If it’s too soupy, cook uncovered til some of the liquid reduces.
