Ingredients

1 tbsp shortening

1.5 lbs boneless chuck, cubed

1 envelope onion soup mix

1/4 cup tomato paste

2 cups water

Preparation

In a dutch oven or heavy saucepan, heat shortening, brown meat well. Stir in soup mix, tomato paste and water. Simmer covered for 1.5 hours or until meat is tender, adding more water as needed. Serve over noodles or rice.
