Ingredients

2 lbs. (8-12) bratwurst links sliced in half

1 tbsp. olive oil

2 large sweet onions sliced

1 large green pepper sliced

1 tbsp. butter

3 cloves garlic chopped

¼ cup whole grain mustard

2 tbsp. molasses

1 vegetable bouillon cube

12 oz. (1 bottle/can) beer

Preparation

Brown whole bratwurst outdoors or on stovetop while preparing onions. Heat the oil in a large soup pot. Add the onions, green peppers and butter; cook until starting to brown, about 15 minutes. Add garlic and continue cooking for 5 more minutes until onions are caramelized. Add the mustard, molasses, bouillon and beer, mix well. Slice and add the bratwurst, stirring to cover them with all the goodness. Simmer on medium for 20 minutes.
