Ingredients

2 sticks butter

1 lb pitted dates, finely chopped (it helps to refrigerate them before chopping, and you can use a food processor to chop)

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar

4 cups Rice Krispies

2 cups chopped pecans

2 cups powdered sugar

Preparation

Melt butter and add brown sugars and dates. Cook for 6 minutes, stirring constantly, at medium heat. Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies and pecans. After cooling briefly and still quite warm, roll into golf ball-sized balls and place in powdered sugar to coat well. Let stand to set.
