Ingredients

Crust

1/2 lb butter

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

1 3/4 cup flour

1/2 cup ground almonds or pecans

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/3 tsp cinnamon

Filling

3/4 cup strawberry, raspberry or blueberry jam

1 cup fresh berries (sliced)

zest of lemon

Preparation

Cream butter, sugar, salt, vanilla. Stir in flours until soft dough forms. Divide into 2 balls. Press 1/2 into a 9x13 buttered baking pan and refrigerate 30 minutes.

Stir jam, berries and lemon zest together. Add lemon juice to taste.

Bake crust for 20 minutes at 325. Spread filling on crust, crumble remaining dough over the top. Bake an additional 45 - 50 minutes until beginning to brown.
