Ingredients

-2 1/4-2 1/2 c. flour (1/2 unbleached all-purpose flour, 1/2 wheat flour, if you have it on hand)

-1 tsp. salt

-1/2 tsp. baking soda

-1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened/melted

-3/4 c. white granulated sugar

-3/4 c. brown sugar, packed

-2 large eggs

-1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

-2 c. chocolate chips

*I personally like to use Ghirardelli 60% Cacao chips, but it also tastes great with semi-sweet, or even a mixture of both!

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix the flour(s), salt, and baking soda together in a separate bowl; set aside. Beat butter, white granulated sugar, and brown sugar together in a medium bowl until smooth. Add the eggs and the vanilla, and continue to beat until creamy. Beat in flour mixture gradually. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop a spoonful (approximately a tablespoon) of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, placing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 3-5 minutes, then move to wire rack to finish cooling.
