Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon maple extract
2 cups quick rolled oats
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Blend shortening and sugars together thoroughly. Mix in eggs. Blend baking soda, baking powder, salt and flour together, then mix into sugar mixture. Add extracts. Add oats, then chocolate chips.
Place walnut-size lumps of dough on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes. Let cool before removing from cookie sheets.
