Ingredients
1 1/4
lb lean (at least 93%) ground turkey
1/2
cup unseasoned dry bread crumbs
1
egg, slightly beaten
1
package (0.4 oz) ranch dressing mix (buttermilk recipe)
1/2
cup barbecue sauce
8
slices turkey bacon
2
tablespoons mustard hot dog relish
Cooking spray
4
slices (1 oz each) Colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend
4
burger buns, split
Lettuce leaves, if desired
Tomato slices, if desired
Preparation
Heat gas or charcoal grill. In bowl, mix turkey, bread crumbs, egg, dressing mix and 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce. Let stand 5 minutes. Shape mixture into 4 patties, 1/2 inch thick, pressing small indentation in center of each patty. Wrap 2 strips of bacon around each patty. In small bowl, stir together remaining 1/4 cup barbecue sauce and the relish; set aside.
Spray grill and turkey patties with cooking spray. Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 11 to 13 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 165°F. Top patties with cheese slices during last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking time. Lightly spray buns with cooking spray. Add buns, cut sides down, to grill until lightly toasted. Top each bun bottom with reserved barbecue sauce mixture, lettuce, tomato and patty. Replace bun tops.
