Ingredients
Carp fillet - 12 pieces of about 2 inch x 2 inch each
Fresh Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Dry Ingredients:
Mustard powder - 1 tablespoon
Garlic powder - 2 teaspoons
Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
Paprika powder - 1 teaspoon or to taste
Salt to taste
Garnish:
Cilantro - 1/2 cup finely chopped
Lemon - 6 thin round slices
Golden Raisins - 1/2 cup
Other:
Canola Oil - Enough to shallow fry the fish in a nonstick pan with raised sides(Deep fry if you already have a fryer)
Preparation
- Heat oil in the pan. Do steps 2 through 5 while oil is heating.
- Wash the fish and add the lemon juice to it.
- In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients.
- Add the fish to the dry ingredients mix and work with hand to evenly coat the fish.
- Let the fish sit for 10 minutes to marinate.
- Fry fish pieces. Turn once after about five minutes or when the side turns golden brown (no need to turn if using a deep fryer). Take out done pieces on paper towel.
- After the fish is done, fry the raisins in the oil for 1 minute and take it out on paper towel as well.
Garnish with fried raisins, chopped coriander and lemon slices and serve.
