Ingredients

Carp fillet - 12 pieces of about 2 inch x 2 inch each

Fresh Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Dry Ingredients:

Mustard powder - 1 tablespoon

Garlic powder - 2 teaspoons

Turmeric - 1 teaspoon

Paprika powder - 1 teaspoon or to taste

Salt to taste

Garnish:

Cilantro - 1/2 cup finely chopped

Lemon - 6 thin round slices

Golden Raisins - 1/2 cup

Other:

Canola Oil - Enough to shallow fry the fish in a nonstick pan with raised sides(Deep fry if you already have a fryer)

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in the pan. Do steps 2 through 5 while oil is heating.
  2. Wash the fish and add the lemon juice to it.
  3. In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients.
  4. Add the fish to the dry ingredients mix and work with hand to evenly coat the fish.
  5. Let the fish sit for 10 minutes to marinate.
  6. Fry fish pieces. Turn once after about five minutes or when the side turns golden brown (no need to turn if using a deep fryer). Take out done pieces on paper towel.
  7. After the fish is done, fry the raisins in the oil for 1 minute and take it out on paper towel as well.

Garnish with fried raisins, chopped coriander and lemon slices and serve.
