Ingredients
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup oil
3 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tablespoon anise seeds
3 cups flour
1 cup almonds or walnuts, chopped
Preparation
Sift dry ingredients together. Blend oil and sugar; adding eggs one at a time. Add flour mixture; 1/2 of flour mixture at a time. Shape into two flat, long loaves. Bake on parchment paper for 18 minutes. Slice loaves on the diagonal, bake cookies on their side for 15 minutes; flip cookies to the other side and bake for another 15 minutes.
