Ingredients
Batter:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
Berry topping:
2 cups frozen blackberries - defrosted
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the batter ingredients like cake batter. Butter an 8 or 9 inch cake pan. Pour the batter into the pan and with a spatula spread it out.
Berry topping:
On top of the batter place the following:
2 cups defrosted blackberries 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup water
Bake for 45 minutes to one hour or until the crust is golden brown.
