Ingredients
4 cups fresh blackberries OR frozen, loose-pack unsweetened blackberries, thawed (about 20oz.)
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 1/2 cups vodka
1 teaspoon whole allspice
Preparation
- In a large bowl, crush berries.
- Stir in sugar, vodka, and spices. Dissolve sugar.
- Pour into 2 qt. jar. Cover and age at room temperature for 2 to 4 weeks, shaking har gently every few days.
- After the aging time, strain cordial through cheesecloth twice, discarding pulp and spices.
- Pour cordial into small decorative bottles. Seal.
- Depending of season, serve at room temperature, heated gently, or icy cold from refrigerator.
