Ingredients

1 3/4 c (420ml) flour

2 eggs

1 tsp (5 ml) baking soda

1/4 tsp (1.25 ml) salt

1/4 tsp nutmeg

dash ground cloves

1 cup (240 ml) sugar

1/2 c (120 ml) melted butter

3/4 c (180ml) buttermilk

3/4 c blueberries

melted butter for topping

1/3 c (80 ml) sugar

1 Tbsp (15 ml) grated orange peel

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375/gas mark 5
  2. sift dry ingredients and make a well. Add eggs, buttermilk, butter and stir until moistened.
  3. Add blueberries
  4. Pour into lined muffin tins and bake 20-25 min.
  5. Mix sugar and orange peel
  6. Dip tops in butter, sugar/orange peel.
