Ingredients

2 cups fresh blueberries

1/2 sup sugar

1 tbs. cornstarch

3/4 c. water

1 1/2 c. sifted flour

3 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 cup butter

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup milk

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.Butter or spray 8x8 pan. Combine 1/2 sugar, cornstarch, and water in med. size saucepan. Cook over med. heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Boil one minute. Remove from heat. Add berries. Allow to cool 15 minutes. Sift flour, baking powder & salt together. Cream butter & 3/4 c. sugar in bowl. Add flour mixture alternately with milk. Beat batter until smooth. Pour berry mixture into 8x8 pan. Spread flour mixture evenly over berries. Bake 30-35 minutes. Serve with whip cream or ice cream.
