Ingredients
6 oz. dried spaghetti
1 lb. Italian sausage (casings removed), or ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped celery
½ cup chopped carrot
1 can (28 oz.) CONTADINA® Crushed Tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
Shredded carrot and fresh basil (optional)
Preparation
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
Cook meat, onion, celery and carrot in large saucepan about 5 minutes or until meat is no longer pink; drain.
Stir in undrained tomatoes, broth, basil, thyme and ¾ cup water.
Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 40 minutes. Serve over spaghetti. Garnish with carrot and basil, if desired.
