Dry ingredients
2.5 oz Cornmeal
2.5 oz Rye flour
2.5 oz Whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Allspice
Wet ingredients
8 1/2 oz Buttermilk
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Orange zest
6 oz Molasses
Preparation
Combine Dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk together.
In a seperate bowl combine the wet ingredients and whisk together
Slowely add the dry ingredients to the wet
Divide the batter between two 20oz can (coffee or soup cans work well)
cover the cans with two layers of aluminium foil and tie in place with string.
Place the cans into a 3 qt pot and add enough water to come half way up the pot.
Bake at 325 for 90 minutes, then cool for 1 hour,
NOTE: you may half to cut open the cans to depan. The sides of the cas can be very sharp, so be carefull.
