Ingredients
2 cups dried tart cherries
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 1/4 t cornstarch
1 T cold water
1 1/2 cup brandy
Preparation
In a saucepa, combine the cherries, sugar, water and brandy. Simmer for 10 minutes or until the liquid is reduced to 1 cup. Mix the cornstarch with 1 T cold water and add it to the cherrry mixture and simmer the mixture, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. Set aside and let cool to room temperature. Serve over bittersweet chocolate cake.
